TEHRAN (IQNA) – The International Quran News Agency (IQNA) is organizing a selfie competition titled “Me and Masses of Devotees” for those attending the annual Arbaeen march in Iraq.

This year’s Arbaeen pilgrims can share with us the selfie photos they take during the journey.

The photos will be posted on IQNA’s Sorosuh and Instagram accounts and published on IQNA’s website.

They can send us an unlimited number of photos by Thursday, November 8, via Sorosuh and Eitaa (admin_iqnanews) and Instagram (iqnannews).

Arbaeen comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).

Each year, a huge crowd of Shias flock to Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites.

In the past few years, around 20 million pilgrims from all over the world took part in the mourning ceremonies in the Iraqi holy city marking Arbaeen.

Arbaeen falls on Tuesday, October 30, this year.
