Girl with Cerebral Palsy Memorizes Quran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A 19-year-old girl with cerebral palsy, a disorder of muscle tone or posture that is caused by immature developing brain, studying at Mohammed bin Obaid Quran Center in Dubai, the UAE, was able to memorize 42 Surahs from the Holy Quran in one year.

 

Nada Mohammed Obaid Al Falasi, manager of the Centre, said that Sarah Al Balushi's older sister encouraged her to read and memorize the Holy Quran, Al Bayan reported.

Al Balushi first started by memorizing three Surahs, An-Nas, Al Falaq, Al Ikhlas and Al Kursi verse from Surah Al Baqarah at an early age, then she went on to study at Mohammed bin Obaid Quran Center.

She has memorized 42 Surahs of the Quran till now and aims to memorize all of the 114 Surahs of the Holy Book.

Al Falasi said that the center focuses on enrolling students who are mentally and physically challenged because they have the right to belong and participate in society. Stating that the best approach to developing their mental skills is reading and memorizing the Holy Quran.

Al Falasi also thanked Al Balushi's family, institutions of the Dubai Government and Dubai Ambulance for their help and efforts to ensure Sarah's presence at the center for her lessons, the KTimes reported.
