Ajvatovica, Celebration of Islam’s Arrival in Bosnia and Herzegovina

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony titled Ajvatovica was held in Bosnia and Herzegovina last week to mark the 510th year since the arrival of Islam in the country.

Ajvatovica is the largest Islamic traditional, religious and cultural event in Europe. It is held near Prusac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was named after Ajvaz-dedo, a pious Muslim working to enlighten the population and achieve progress in the area.

The seven-day celebration in Prusac, which was attended by a large number of Muslims, concluded with congregational prayers.
