TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research (ACECR) has strongly condemned the Quran desecration in Europe, noting that the heinous acts show the “deep grudge” of enemies against Islam.

In a statement on Saturday, the ACECR vehemently slammed the recent desecration of the Quran in Sweden and Denmark.

The revolutionary body started the statement with verse 8 of Surah As-Saff: “They seek to extinguish the Light of Allah with their mouths; but Allah will complete His Light, much as the unbelievers dislike it.”

The “evil” measures of “troops of ignorance” in desecrating the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Holy Quran is a “clear sign of their deep grudge,” read the statements, adding that such acts result in nothing but a further promotion of the “culture of monotheism” in the world.

The statement comes as Rasmus Paludan, a far-right anti-Islam politician, has resumed his heinous campaign of Quran burning since last week in Sweden and Denmark. The open desecration of the Quran, which has hurt the feeling of more than 1.5 billion Muslims across the world, is being allowed by European governments under the so-called freedom of expression.

God has pledged to protect the Quran “It is We who sent down the Koran, and We watch over it.” [Surah Al-Hejr, verse 9] and also to foil the plots of enemies “The plots of the unbelievers can only result in failure” [Surah Ghafir, verse 25], added the statement.

The duty of every Muslim, maintained the statement, is to cling to the “guiding and shining” Quran and implement its teachings in their personal and social lives.

“The strongest response to these blind measures is to gain enough knowledge of the Quranic verses and implement their life-giving teachings,” the ACECR added.

Such insults can never stop the shining path of the Islamic civilization, it said, adding, “Naturally, anti-religious and insane actions under the guise of slogans such as freedom of expression have revealed the unclean face and hands of the Arrogance and their evil conscience.”

The body also called on the monotheistic world’s religious leaders, freedom seekers, and intellectuals to condemn the recent hate-mongering and draw clear lines between themselves and perpetrators of these heinous actions and also to express their solidarity with the Muslim world so as to prevent division among the Abrahamic Ummah.

The acts of sacrilege have been strongly condemned by Muslim people and countries across the globe.
