There will be one Quran recitation program for teenagers and another for women in the morning and a program for all pilgrims in the afternoon.

The afternoon program will also include thematic interpretation of the Quran by seminary scholar Hojat-ol-Islam Haj Abolqassem.

The holy shrine’s Astan (custodianship) will also organize supplication recitation programs on the nights of the blessed month.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Bahaeddin Ziaei will recite the Supplication of Abu Hamza Thumali in the programs and Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Hossein Momeni will deliver speeches.

All of the programs will be broadcast live on the Qom Province’s channel of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) as well as the website of the Astan.

Like in previous years, a large number of pilgrims are expected to visit the holy mausoleum during Ramadan, which is expected to begin on Thursday.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
