TEHRAN (IQNA) – Amid increasing refugee crisis, the Chechen president has accused the "aggressive" policies of the US and European countries of creating the current crisis, urging Muslim nations to fight the root of the problem.

“If today no one rises against the inhumane policies of the Western countries, tomorrow the disaster may come to any Muslim country,” Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Russia’s Chechen Republic, wrote on his Instagram account.

"I call upon you to urgently discuss this problem, to develop a unified position and to save the lives of thousands of people.
“Tens of thousands of Muslims are dying. Women, old people, children and young people as well. Under such conditions the leaders of Islamic countries has no right to remain silent, to stand aside and remain simple observers,” he added, according to OnIslam.net.

Some 350,000 migrants have made the perilous journey to reach Europe's shores since January this year, according to figures released by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Tuesday.

The IOM said more than 2,600 migrants had drowned trying to cross the Mediterranean in the same period.

A photo of a three-year-old Syrian toddler lying face down on the beach, after he and his family drowned, has sparked worldwide cry over this week.

Blaming the West for the Syrian problem, Kadyrov also pointed fingers to the western leaders of causing similar tragedies in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Libya, Yemen, Algeria and other Muslim nations.

“The problem cannot be solved by fighting its consequences, by silencing the reasons that caused it. But this is what Europe and the United States are currently doing,” the Chechen leader wrote.

"The USA and Europe have ruined these countries, destroyed their economies, provoked lingering internal conflicts and forced the desperate people into becoming refugees."

Last February, Kadyrov accused the US and other Western nations of “spawning” the ISIL terrorist group in order to incite hatred towards Muslims all over the world.

Kadyrov also suggested the West was backing ISIL in order to distract public attention from numerous problems in the Middle East, in the hope of destroying Islamic nations from inside.
