TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Archbishop of Sebastia from the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem al-Quds slammed Israeli attempts to undermine and isolate Christians in the holy city.

Atallah Hanna told the Felestin Daily that the Tel Aviv regime is plotting to sideline Christians in Jerusalem al-Quds and force them to leave the city, Raialyoum website reported.

He noted that there are no more than 8,000 Christians in occupied Quds now while the number was over 35,000 in 1948.

He added that many of the Christians who have left the city to live abroad are hoping to one day return to Jerusalem al-Quds.

Christians, like Muslims, have been the victims of the occupation regime’s policies, Hanna stated.

He also deplored the Zionist regime’s exploitation of the coronavirus pandemic to expand its dominance on Jerusalem al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque.
