Iran Names Representatives for Int’l Quran Contests

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization has named 11 men that can represent Iran in upcoming international events.

 

Concurrent with the semifinal stage of the 44th national Quran competition, the panel of judges chose 11 men that can potentially participate in international Quran competitions up until the end of the current [Persian calendar] year (ending March 20, 2022).

The tahqiq recitation of the participants in the semifinal of the national competition has been the main criterion for the selection.

According to the results that were announced on Saturday, Masoud Nouri, Vahid Khazaei, Hamidreza Nasiri, Vahid Nazarian, Seyyed Jasem Mousavi, Mohsen Ghasemi, Omid Hosseini-Nejad, Habib Sedaghat, Mehdi Sayyahi, Alireza Masihpour, and Seyyed Mostafa Hosseini achieved the top ranks respectively.

According to the announcement released by the Quranic Affairs Center of Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, in case any invitation is received for the participation of Iranian qaris in international competitions, the ones that have the proper conditions and higher ranking will be dispatched to events.

The center also added that for the next year (March 2022 – March 2023), award winners of the 44th national contest will represent Iran in international competitions.

The final stage of the national competitions is set to be held in a matter of weeks.
