The competitors are both citizens and residents (male and female).
They are participating by memorizing one chapter from the last five chapters of the Quran.
Member of the contest’s organizing committee Jassim Abdullah Al Ali said that roughly 18 committees are supervising the examinations for the male contenders in Imam Muhammad bin AbdulWahhab Mosque.
Eleven supervising committees are conducting the examinations for the female contenders in the headquarters of the women’s Quran memorization department in Al Waab area.
He said the examinations of the children’s segment will continue until Thursday, while the examinations for other categories will begin on Tuesday and continue until Sunday.
The committee has allocated financial awards for the winners of the competition.
