This is according to statistics presented at a meeting held at the International Quran News Agency (IQNA) to discuss the process of selection and participation of Iranian qaris and memorizers in international competitions.
A number of Quranic officials, figures, masters, memorizer and reciters attended the meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the statistics, a total of 417 Iranians have been dispatched to international Quran competitions or attended Iran’s International Quran Competition from 1991 to 2022.
From among them, 278 qaris and memorizers have won top titles (first to fifth) in the Quranic events, which shows a 66-percent success rate.
As for the international Quran contest in Malaysia, whose 62nd was held in the Southeast Asian country back in October, Iranians have taken part in 42 editions and come first to fifth in 38 editions, showing a 90-percent success rate.
Iranians have achieved 11 first, 11 second, five third, and 11 fourth and fifth ranks in the Malaysia international Quranic event so far.
The meeting also discussed reviewing the regulations for dispatching qaris and memorizers to international Quran contests, establishment of an international association of Quran competitions and balanced media coverage of international Quran contests, among other issues.
