The Egyptian qari performed recitations in several sessions which were warmly welcomed by people in Madagascar, Cairo24 reported.
The sessions were held in various cities on the island with hundreds of local Muslims participating.
As in international qari, Sheikh Harak has traveled to more than 40 countries to attend Quranic programs.
Some of his fans have named him the “new Ghalwash” because of his mastery of Quran recitation and his imitation of Ragheb Mustafa Ghalwash’s recitation style.
Madagascar is an island country in the Indian Ocean, some 400 kilometers off the coast of East Africa. According to the latest estimates, some 28 million people live in the country. Muslims constitute some 3 percent of the total population.
