ICRO Chief in Moscow to Attend Interfaith Dialogue

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) has traveled to Russia to take part in the 12th round of Islam and Orthodox Christianity dialogue.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour arrived in Moscow on Tuesday morning and was welcomed by a delegation from the Russian Orthodox Church as well as Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, Iranian Cultural Attaché Masoud Ahmadvand, Head of the Islamic Center of Moscow Hojat-ol-Islam Bakhtavar and Head of the Al-Mustafa International University’s branch in Russia Hojat-ol-Islam Rasoul Abdollahi.

The 12th round of Islam and Orthodox Christian Dialogue is scheduled to be held in Moscow on February 20-22 with the theme of public services of religious communities in the post-pandemic world.

A delegation led by Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour will take part in the event, presenting papers and holding talks with the Russian side.

The papers will be on such themes as interaction between secular and spiritual education systems, social services of religious people in the post-pandemic world, prerequisites and factors of development of cooperation between Iran and Russia in social and humanitarian fields, role of education in religious and social coherence, and role of women and family in religious coherence in society in the post-pandemic world.

The Islam and Orthodox Christianity dialogue is held this year for the first time since 2017.
