Sheikh Qais al-Khazali made the remark in a speech delivered on the occasion of the martyrs’ day in Iraq, Nina news reported.
He was referring to the Iraqi resistance forces’ success in thwarting the US forces’ plots in the Arab country.
He added that all of those who were martyred in defense of religious sanctities and the motherland are martyrs of resistance.
Khazali further honored the memory of Martyr Mahdi al-Kinani, a member of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq who was martyred by Takfiri terrorists at the holy shrine of Hazrat Zaynab (SA).
He said Iranian commander Martyr Qassem Soleimani believed he had not seen anyone as courageous as al-Kinani.
Also speaking on the martyrs’ day was Hadi al-Ameri, head of Iraq’s Al-Fath Alliance, who said it was the resistance, with support from Iran, that saved Iraq from Daesh and the US.
