Jordanian Minister of Awqaf Islamic Affairs Mohammad Ahmad Muslim Al Khalayleh addressed the event. He announced that the competition, known as the “Al-Hashimiya” International Quran Competition, has drawn 49 contestants from 48 countries, reported the news website “almamlakatv.com”.
The participants will compete in the disciplines of Quran memorization and recitation.
The minister said that this event reflects the commitment of the Jordanian government and its people to the recitation and memorization of the Holy Quran, as well as to learning and education.
Further emphasizing the purpose of these competitions, Al- Khalayleh stated that they aim to promote Quranic culture and instill the virtues and values of the Holy Quran in everyday life as a guiding principle.
