Online Quranic, Religious Lessons Planned for Maldivians Living Abroad
According to avas.mv, the plan was discussed at a meeting of the country’s Vice President Faisal Naseem with a number of activists in religious fields on October 11.
The participants discussed holding online classes on Islam, Dhivehi language and the Quran for young Maldivians residing in other countries.
Naseem highlighted the necessity of getting the young students acquainted with their mother tongue, culture and religious traditions and asked for the cooperation of related organizations.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Education, Dr Aishath Ali, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Ahmed Zahir, President of Dhivehi Bahuge Academy, Ashraf Ali, Special Advisor on Social Policy at the President's Office, Musthafa Luthfee, senior officials from the National Institute for Education, and senior representatives from the National Centre for the Holy Quran.
